What the Hell is Going On?

WTF Cat

Illness has really hit me recently. But…I promised myself that the full first draft of my new book Of Dolls and Men, the first in my #PrettyPennyAssitant series, will be finished by the end of Nov.

I will keep that promise.

I’ll be posting the first chapter for free, here, on my Website on Sat 1st December and am looking to get a sneak-peek out in time for Xmas.

Hope everyone’s having a great Monday so far and I wish you the best of luck in whatever you have planned <3

What happens when my mind wanders…Words appear!

Lazy words

It’s come back to this. That time of year when I stare at a blank screen, saying “It’s only 200 words, it’s fine.”

I’m sat here listening to my old playlists and going through all of my old (not necessarily good) self-comfort routines.

I’m slowing down my breathing by singing to slow(ish) songs and every so often tapping at my keyboard.

Having to articulate my feelings helps.

I always think in words anyway — pictures accompany the words, but essentially, I’m thinking aloud inside my head all the time — so typing isn’t something that’s hard for me to do.

There’s a forklift that has been used to demolish buildings, dig through concrete and is now clearing rubble to make way for whatever comes next in the history of this particular stretch of the British Isles.

A mother just steered her kids around one of the many pot-holes that have developed after the year long reconstruction of this area. I could hear their high pitched giggles and it made me smile.

Life is happening all around us, every day. People are born, they grow, they contribute their part to the society they live in and then they pass away; back into the circle of carbon and stars that we are all made of.

So why is it that some of us feel lost?

Short Story: Soul – We are all searching for something.

Soul

The soul drifted, lost in the vortex.  It knew only absence and loss.  It felt no pain because it lacked any form, but it yearned, oh how it yearned.  It yearned for sensation and for the connection it knew on an instinctual level was possible.  It was so cold and so alone it didn’t understand how it had come to this place nor how to escape it.  Time was its enemy here, it knew.  It just didn’t know how to fight or why the war was even taking place.
